Hi all, I posted this again here to see if it will get any more attention so I apologise again if it's in the wrong place or if thats inappropriate. I am a Dom who also happens to be a skilled carpenter. I've made a fair amount of ordinary furniture but I am thinking of branching out into other things. I am very interested in designing and building bondage furniture, suspension equipment and paddles and I was wondering if there is a market out there for bespoke bondage furniture or toys? So if anyone wants anything made for a (very) reasonable price, get in touch. Or if you think I'm an idiot, let me know as well! I would like to hear from anyone who has any ideas or opinions. If anyone is interested, I can put up some pictures of a few things I have already done for myself.

I think you've hit on the key word there... reasonable... Now I've nothing against people making a living, but I was looking at the 'kinkybed' thing last night, and we were working out how much it would be to make one of those, given that it's essentially the same kind of material that we use in our every day lives (I work doing sound and lighting so use trussing pretty much every day) We almost fell over when someone said the bed was £7000!!!! Don't get me wrong it was gorgeous, but for me not too practical, the bed itself I could get away with, after all it's a geeky enough thing for me to have, but the wheel on the end, well as nice as that is, I kinda like my bedroom to be vanilla but pervertable thanks... but again I say £7000????? There are too many people that see fetish furnature as a nieche market and therefore put the prices up tenfold (just look at how much a riding crop sells for in a tack shop as opposed to on a fetish stall, £3-5 in the tack shop, £10+ in a fetish shop / stall) So if there was someone making affordable fetish adaptable furnature then I would definately be interested "that artwork is rather dark" "well yes, I wasn't exactly expecting winnie the pooh!" |

Are you doing it as a hobby or as a business ? If you're trying to make a living from it, you'll soon find that when you start factoring in the true costs of materials, time, premises and tools, what was hoped to be an inexpensive item starts becoming very pricey. |

Thank you all for your suggestions and support. Ladyjayne - have you got a link for that 'Kinkybed'? I would be interested to see what it is and whether I can make anything at all similar. I shall post pictures soon. Thanks again. |
