We don't pretend. What on earth makes you think we do? Like most of the independents who post here on IC I see up to 5 clients a week. Some weeks I don't see anyone at all. There has been a few summers where I have had to decide between having an (unpaid) holiday or continue working.

We don't have the luxury of a set wage at the end of the month. We have no idea when the next genuine booking will be for the foreseeable future. We also need to be available to ensure we can accept the next booking, that means taking on a part-time job isn't always a resolution.

For the first few years of a PDs career there is no profit. I have spent up to £10,000 in the last 3 years creating a dungeon that has a bit of something that caters to most interests. Quality equipment costs. A lot. Should this be something only the PD pays for or should her clients contribute towards the fantastic equipment that they are enjoying, as well as the usual reasons why anybody needs a job (a roof, heat, food)?

Or should we work our arses off to ensure that we see a couple of dozen clients a week, to only charge £50, and burn ourselves out within the year just to satisfy tightwads like you who know nothing about simple economics?

If you could charge £50 or £120 an hour and you know that someone will be happy to pay either - what would you charge?

Just think. If Aston Martins were only £5000 we could all have one couldn't we?

I bet Burberry are still regretting the decision to start selling baseball caps...

If it is such an extortionate rate, how come PD's are so in demand and busy, often turning away clients?

Seriously, get a life. If you are a tight ass and dont wanna pay, then you can just find yourself a Domme to do it for free on here. Using your wit charm and beauty to attract them, cant you?

All this thread shows is that you have no idea what works in the real world, how it works, or why it works.

You are quick to judge, try walking a mile in someone else's shoes before you do so. Making ends meet by earning 500-800 pounds a week isn't that easy when over half of that goes on overheads alone. If you take an average of 650 a week in takings, then take half of that away, you're left with an annual wage of 16k. Not a luxurious wage, is it?

Well I'm only speaking personally but I absolutely have to charge that much to make ends meet, simply to pay my bills and living costs. You're making the assumption that we all see 15 people a week or something - that isn't the case for most of us independents. 3 or 4 people a week if I'm lucky. Living off about 400 a week before tax isn't that great in London!
