We have a glut of lettuce so we had to make lettuce soup----------- http://www.channel4.com/food/recipes/healthy/pea... You know you've over-sown when you are making lettuce soup...................... And so your life
Your life has failed
You've made the progress of a snail
Don't worry you'll get your revenge
For we're all equal in the end
The small and mighty all the same
This life a shallow, facile game
Where every empire turns to dust
And every ego will be crushed

Grew enough lettuce to keep the neighbourhood in salad one year. Thanks to the barter system round here I swapped it for home-made wine, a tyre pump and jam

The best thing for cut-and-come-again salad leaves is to only plant where you have tiny bits of space (As we did). We still loads but between us are using them all (as long as you remember to plant more as you are running out). Everything else we've got spare has gone in the freezer or into value addded stuff (homemade rasberry icecream for our glut of those, relishes and jams later in the year). - Chris This is my voice, my weapon of choice Edited 1 Jul 09, 8:53 AM by Backdooruk
