The Sound and the Fury - William Faulkner (1929)

No direct thoughts to offer I am afraid, as sadly both that text and Faulkner are both new to me.

However, I was intrigued so had a brief search and was pleased to find that it is a highly regarded work.

A few resulting comments:

Its story is presented in an interesting narrative style from multiple character perspectives. The author's descriptive text paints quite an image in the snippets I read, though perhaps a little difficult for me, not knowing well the period or setting.

For others that may wish to take a peek, an online text may be found at: http://www.usask.ca/english/faulkner/main/index.... - other comments and reviews abound online.

Certainly worth getting to know or dipping into if one is curious. The film version may be worth checking but thats off topic (!) and I would imagine, not as rewarding as the book.

Good luck with your venture icbookclub :)

The obvious aside, I am curious as to what the goals and aims of icbookclub might be...
