Today i went to the corner shop up the road. On my way there was a group of young boys. They were on the opposite side of the street. As we passed on of them shouted, thats a man. As usual i just ignored them and carried on to the shop. As i carried on all i could here was the boys shouting things like your a tranny, your a puff. I felt like going over to talk to them, but as usual I held my head up high and went into the shop. Some time back that would have freaked me out. But im a stronger person now. I am happy and content in my life. I am who i am. If them verbaly abusing me has given them pleasure then im happy for them. Im not saying it didn't hurt what they said. I think it would hurt anyone.
Edited for 2nd incident.
Just went upto the shop again and low and behold a young girl said look at the tranny and started to giggle to her friend as they went passed. What really pisses me off is that they haven't got the gutts to say it to my face. Its allways after they have passed.
The thing is they try to Embarrass me with what they say. But it only Embarrasses them as i am stronger in mind than them. Its a bloody good job im strong and very happy with who i am. And that is Sophia Hayes a very proud transsexual.

People mock out of fear and ignorance...recently had to deliver some training on transsexual/transgender/transvestite definitions and E&D rights to a group of grown men. i told them they could do all the snickering they needed to get it out of their systems, then gave them some case studies to consider. Not only did they stop laughing, but some of them dropped the macho image long enough to share some of their own experiences and the rest of the group were then able to move to a (temporary?) place of empathy and understanding. It isn't easy, sorry you were hurt by those with little ability to see outside a rigid box...but i am so pleased for you that you are able to hold your head up and accept yourself. Take care l_c x That that don't kill me will only make me stronger...

Excellent attitude. I'm glad your happiness isn't knocked by the ignorant comments of the narrow minded. You look great girl xx I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own. (The Prisoner 1967)

As always I'm proud of my girl, she's got more dignity in her little finger than all of them put together. "The most powerful sexual organ in the body is our brain, open your mind and allow your fantasies free reign. Mutual pleasure between consenting adults is a wonderful thing."

I'm glad you're growing stronger and more confident to be who you want to be and become who you want to become. And sorry we still have public sniggerers. Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est. http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/posts/226772/ |
