I think the problem stems from the fact people "not looking" still have profiles listed in the same place, the whole listings are subtitled "4 or For" which suggests they are for people looking. What would work best would be a seperate listing for people who are looking to those that are not. That way if you're looking for social friends you arn't confused with those looking for play partners. Of course....that won't stop people from advertising in the wrong anacronym's. | ||

What you find really depends on the way you see this site. If you think of it as a dating site and you are female, then you will probably get quite a few dates, after weeding out the wanky memos. If you think of it as a discussion site, then it will give you a unique insight into the British BDSM scene in all its manifestations; you will meet some interesting people and have some interesting discussions. And if you are really lucky, as I was, you might meet someone for a long-term relationship. Like many things in life, what this site is depends very much on your viewpoint. | ||

Having recently stumbled across a site purely dedicated to dating and contacts, the contrasts between it and IC are even clearer to me. It has loads of extra features geared up to finding likely partners, e.g. facility to answer a chosen selection of personal questions, automated features to present profiles in order of likely matched preferences, more sophisticated filtering, pro-active suggestions of likely matches, a "wink" facility and loads of other stuff I didn't try. It is way more sophisticated and easier to use than IC's personal Ads. That said, IC's features may well be perfectly adequate for the size of the population here. (That site also has a remarkable number of IC folk on it. And by the way I'm not looking for dates; created a silly profile as a joke for someone who I knew was on there while a bit tipsy one evening).
