as usual i went to town today to do the banking for the company ... nice day ...window shopped bought some nice things ... i decided to get a taxi home .. faster and less hassle ... stupid me!!!
when i got in it was a woman driver ...no problems there ... told her where i was going and she smiled .. twice i asked her where she was going ...she said the city centre was blocked so we were going another way ... " dont worry " she says ... " its the same price " * grin*
then she went all around the city outskirts ... on to small country roads at breakneck speeds .. while talking all the time on her phone ....at one point actually having to slam on her breaks when she met oncomming trafic on a blind bend ... i actually shouted .... still chatting on her phone about buying a new sofa for her flat ... fouton or bed setee .. on she trundles ... missing gears .. hurtling round bends like a rally driver ... oww did i mention the seatbelts didnt work in the back???
then when she got me here she tried to charge me £5 more... i was shocked and told her JUST where to go... and now im waiting for the local council to ring me back to get her off the road ..she is a danger to everyone!!!
i have the licance number and im not going to let this drop ...
so now im sat here ..trying to relax ..calm down ... grrrr!!!
wish me luck

To be fair, if I felt in danger in the car, ie, driver hurtling on the roads whilst being on the phone and the seatbelts not working I would of said something to her there and then. I can't believe I've no control

That reminds me of a taxi ride I had in cornwall once: The driver had me hold on to the door all the way because the latch was broken. Nothing compares to the taxi drivers in Ireland though. - Chris This is my voice, my weapon of choice

Remember one taxi journey i took at night, the driver drove through every single red light, in fairness busy junctions he slowed down and checked if they were clear before driving through them, other smaller junctions he didn't slow down for. I said that's a bit dangerous and illegal, he said nah at night red lights are just like give way signs its perfectly fine to drive through them. Unfortunately local council probably won't do anything until the police catch up with her which probably won't be till they are attending an accident she has been involved in. |
