Oh sweetie, not much use to you but massive hugs. "Have people always been this angry? I've got this really funny idea that before the internet people would just write FUCK YOU! and attach it to pigeons" - Russell Howard

I had this happen to my credit card last year, and it feels REALLY squicky! I felt oddly violated and strange! Go in to your bank tomorrow and explain the situation, they CAN increase your o/d temporarily to cover the loss. That way you can pay your rent, and as soon as it's all sorted out, your o/d should revert to normal.

Try the CAB, get them to make a few calls for you. If your Landlord knows the situation will he give you a few weeks grace? "Me? I'm all about the hugs.

That's really, really shit! Get on the phone and explain your situation to your landlord or letting agent and tell them what's happened then just pay up when you can. If you have a good record for paying on time the chances are they will be relatively understanding. I am a land lady and something similar happened to my tenant recently. It was frustrating because I rely on his payment to pay my morgage but because he is usually reliable and causes me no hassle it would have been silly (and probably not legal) to consider eviction proceedings especially as it was a one off blip. I am also sure you CAB would give you similar advice.

Thank you guys - I will go see my local branch in the morning and try to work out a temporary overdraft to cover the losses til the fraud dept can refund what was taken. I keep swinging from absolutely fucking furious to teary and upset. So much for my early night! *rages moar* ------------------------------------------

What she said. You can also call them in most cases. It's horrid - I had it done to me and cried lots, then felt daft for crying cos it's not a 'real' crime. But it made me feel dirty and worried. Don't feel bad for feeling shit honey. HUGS x Be nice to people, or don't, your call. Edited 17 Jun 09, 9:09 PM by mia

Yeah, I can reclaim it all, it's just going to take a few weeks to sort out. It's just shit that during those few weeks my rent goes out.
I'll sort it. I'm just cross and venting. And a bit teary. I might have a cry. Or break things - I haven't yet decided. ------------------------------------------

Best not to break things, they usually have to be replaced. It's crap that this has happened to you, its a violation and understandable you're upset. Talk to the bank, talk to your landlord, that'll put the financial into place.
Have a good rant, rage and cry, but try not to break things Hugz PM x |
