It's late. I can't be arsed to look through some clevah dicke recipes on the web.
Today I made spinach pai and used filo, some of which I had left over and is now in my fridge.
I thort "oh I'll make some filo pastry somethings tomorrow to use that pastry up" - thinking just more of the same - feta and spinach dodads. But I looked tonight and I have no spinach left over though. I must have used all my frozen spinach store!
I'm not into sweet- I don't want to do baklava or anything with honey. I have cheese and various bits of dead pigge and egges and various veggies.
I kno that on here be cookes.....
Please post your fave filo and summat recipe here?
(You can have my spinach pai recipe if you want one).
testily, yet hopefully

Place buttered layers of filo on a greased baking tray. Top with a homemade tomato sauce, caramelised onions and chargrilled veg- courgette and aubergine are good- crumble over some feta cheese (or any cheese you have/like) and bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Or you could do a salmon en croute stylee thing. Or deep fried mincemeat or banana and ice cream. "velvet's a good little cunt"

I once did something with salmon in filo but can't quite remember the recipe. Fresh salmon chunks, not smoked slices. Hope you don't mind my saying this here but there's something rather wonderful about a woman of intelligence and maturity who's into classical music, knitting, recipes and filthy perverted intimate activities, commenting that some clubs seem to do "BDSM-lite", tattooed and posing for nude photos (and in great shape). Errm - is your creative spelling scelph-tort? ETA Did I really say that second paragraph out loud for all to hear? How embarrassing. Reminds me of a weblog I once wrote. I use filo to make spring rolls (shreded carrot, cabbage, bean sprouts - in fact anything you can find). Freshly shallow fried and with soy sauce they are a revelation.

Wrapping goats cheese in filo with a tiny bit of cranberry sauce and cooking for 15 minutes or so is lovely. Served with a fresh tomato sauce is nice too.

Gently soften and cook in garlic butter. When it has cooled down sufficiently wrap around 'H's cock and eat it.

Where have you been? That is not the garlic it is the smegma and that has no place at all in a thread started by the fragrant syndee.

Thanks Toppers and velvet. What I did do, in the end, was mix mushrooms, caramelised onions, a tomato, a bunch of seeds (not H's- just sunflower and pine nuts and cumin), I couldn't find cranberry sauce (who nicked it?) so I used plum chutney, bits of dead pigge and thyme and did the blob on top of buttered filo rectangles thing. I did not know you should butter filo, so I learnt something, thanks. And for cheese I used the feta, and also slices of processed crap-with-jalapeņo which I am fond of. I wanted to take a photo, but I just ate them all instead, on my table outside in the sunne, with herb tea, reading a knitting book. Flippin bliss. If I hadn't have known about the decapitated starling lying on my front path it would have been the perfect summer lunch. 5 and 8 in one night! 5 and 8 in one night!

Yep butter each sheet with melted butter in between them. Makes it crisper and tastier. "velvet's a good little cunt" |
