I'm wary of profiles that shout thier extremis at me.

They might just be telling the truth though. I've had several (very enjoyable) play encounters with self advertised pain sluts who definitely were and actually none with someone who said they were but actually wasn't. Also, what attracted me to those people in the first place was their pain slut status.

I'm guessing though that the less people are interested in playing with a pain slut, the more likely they are to guess that someone is lying, or mentally unstable when someone says they are one.

The operative word was *shout* not the extremis :-) I have had many encounters with self confessed and utterly abandoned painsluts, it's not about my interest, or otherwise, in someone's desire to experience pain, it's about peacocking and showboating and the general “Look at me I'm an enormous painslut, wave, wave wave” which turns me instantly cold on a profile.

Painsluts welcome here, honest guv.

See, I don't experience this at all. I'm switchy, not much of a pain slut myself (except with certain people), and if I see someone talk about their painsluttishness my reaction is "great! They're brazen and open about what they enjoy. Hooray!" As both top and bottom.

Strange question perhaps but i'm curious :-)

I think - there goes someone who has spent far too much time reading the exploits of others and thinking, than actually doing and experiencing.

Please check your irony levels before attempting to respond to the majority of my posts.

At the risk of repeating myself and getting boring, (I know, it has happened on occasion, always comes as a shock :-)) I have no problem with profiles that use the word painslut to describe an honest want, need and orientation. I balk at profiles that go over the top in that "look-at-me-ness-look-at-how-much-I-can-take-me-ube r-sub" (and the same for DimmyDom profiles of uber-ness too, it has to be said) and there are a lot of those types of profile.

The expedition of my violent love, outrun the pauser reason.

The first thing you need to do with a “pain slut” is get into their mind - the last thing you should do is whack them simply because they invite you to.

I would say whacking them is the quickest and surest way of getting into their mind anyway. I find a bit of actual pain easily filters out the unstable and fantasists.

This was interesting, as for me I dislike saying 'I like a lot of pain' as it makes me feel a bit of a do-me sub. However as soon as someone does 'whack' me, invairably my reactions show just how much I like it and how I can't help but respond sexually. Which then allows me to explain my desires a little more, without feeling like I'm either laying down a challenge, or showing off.

A sweet disorder in the dress, kindles in clothes a wantonness...

Pain tolerance is entirely subjective anyway. What one top might do to as bottom that they considered painful might be little more than a tickle as far as another top is concerned. Therefore whatever someone thinks their pain tolerance is a top it only ever going to find out for sure in situ, by their reaction to types of pain exactly as you relate.

I'd really rather the maximum pleasure from the minimum pain, so 'pain slut' is not a term I'd use for myself.

Whereas, as a sadist, I want the bottom to feel pain and I want to see them feel that pain: It's not about giving them the maximum pain they can take, but getting the reaction from them I get off on (which is not only 'enjoyment').

To be honest I would be impressed, a bit jealous and then I would have a question.

How do you manage to be an extreme masochist all month round (girls only I guess) as my tolerance changes so much during my cycle? I would be scared to tell a new Dom that I was a pain slut as though it might be true some days, others I find my tolerance halved.
