I have a Danish friend. She advised me to read this book when we were shopping together in Edinburgh, so I bought it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Apparently the original title is something like "The Man Who Hated Women". There are many, many twists and turns in the story, it was very intriguing.
I have the second one in the trilogy too and am eagerly awaiting the third one in a year's time.
Also a film

This is actually a swedish creation that I am proud to talk about. Lisbeth is one of the best characters ever and all the books I think are now out in paperback and english. Soooooo good! moreinches.wordpress.com

Henning Mankell is another great Swedish author, although wasn't too keen on the BBC/Brannagh adaptation "Social order at the expense of liberty is hardly a bargain."

I am enjoying this book immensley, its one that I can't put down so I am finding it is keeping me up into the small hours reading it. One question I do have generally though is I am finding that alhough I am captivated by the BDSM theme it does nothing for me turn-on wise because of its implied brutality and non-consensual participation. But I know that for some people hear that would be a powerful fantisy. |
