Pony Play seems to be becoming more and more popular and, I have to say from the point of view of a novice, that it is excellent fun.

There are already several well established pony clubs that run regular events and I believe that, if we all work together instead of trying to be in competition with each other, we can have a great time - the more the merrier.

A list of pony events can be found here: http://www.bridgewood.org.uk/oab/events I would name some events, but having a dreadful memory, am loathe to give offence by missing anyone out, so check the list :)

Have you always wanted to "have a go" at pony play but felt it would be too expensive to invest in the equipment before you know if you would like it?

I thought that too until I realised that you don't actually have to invest in any more than a belt, some rope and a rubber bit gag to start.

We recently held a Pony Play Day at Preston which was excellent fun. We had lots of new people come along as well as more experienced people.

We provided rope harnesses and sulkies for newcomers to use; and the main lesson learned on the day was - don't try to race when wearing high heels! I know they don't look as good, but trainers are perfect for beginners; investment in nicer looking footwear can come later with the rest of the kit.

We will be holding regular Pony Days at Preston; the next will be on the 12th September and will be followed by the Barnyard Club in Warrington on the 13th.

In addition, we will be holding a couple of afternoons in Warrington for complete beginners who would like to try out pony play and see if it floats their respective boats.

These afternoons will be free and, although we can't provide leather harnesses for everyone, we can put you all into rope harnesses so you can try it out. We have sulkies available and have a reasonably small outdoor area where you can try them out.

The sulkies provided are hand-pulled and therefore don't require a harness; they are also safer for beginners (IMO) as they allow the sulky to be dropped if the pony needs to stop quickly or stumbles, thus preventing people from kissing the floor face first!

You will be able to get advice on building your own sulkies (they are nowhere near as expensive as you might think) and I am hoping to arrange a leather workshop at a future Barnyard Club meeting if anyone is interested, which will help you to make your own harnesses and gear.

All you need to bring with you is a rubber bit gag. The beginners afternoons will be held on Saturdays; anyone interested, please contact me.

Excellent ... as soon as we have sorted out some dates I will let you know :)

Some people are like slinkies ... they don't really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs :-D
Some people say I'm a bitch, that's just not true - I have the heart and soul of a kind and gentle person ... in a jar, on my desk, next to my cane.

I wholeheartedly agree with Lady Pandora. Pony play is niche within a niche and their is no room for competition. By all pulling together(no pun intended!) we can really develop pony play and get slots more people involved.

Last Saturday at the North Downs Pony Club saw the 1st event of the season and fine, sunny weather saw a large turnout of ponies and a great day was had by all.

For those that missed it the next pony event in the south east is near Southampton on Saturday July 11th. Equipment, harness, carts and advice available if needed. Great facilities, proper loos etc.

The next NDPC event is on Saturday August 1st at the Maidstone venue. For details on all the above or if you wish to try pony play privately give me a shout.

Hi there! have to say I have always had an interest in pony play. Most recently have the chance to do some amature filming sadly how ever I lack the Equipment! I would gladly hire the stuff if I knew of any one local to Nottingham who I could meet to discuss the possible arrangement! Have a willing partner to take the pony role just sadly lacking the tack! As I said would talk about hire or loan of equipment if any one can help me on this!
