To answer your question, it's probably option 1. Anecdotally, it seems to afflict Dommes more so than others but is probably just a functionality of 'online' relationships and dating.

Of the dozens, and I do mean dozens, of people I've chatted to via memo, email, yahoo, etc, I can count the number I've met in person on one hand.

Ironically, only about 1/3 of these people I made first contact with. Most came to me.

Such a shame - but seems quite de riguer when it comes to moving things from fantasy to reality.

People are strange, if they don't bite the bullet & pootle along to a munch, then there's probably a good reason, unfortunately, it's not always a simple reason.

I know nothing about yous and nothing about what you want from a friendship, but you've potentially pressed someone's buttons but they are not able to take it to the next level. I hate the idea that they are taking the piss, but you never know. I hope that they aren't, but give it the distance that this sort of response deserves.

As mentioned, the majority are 'couples' that contacted us initially - we suspect that we are either talking to someone who hasn't mentioned their on-line life to their partner or, more probably, a single person who can't fake a partner convincingly enough.
