Always astounds me that people don't want to get involved, but it's true. I've helped when I've seen things going on, even stepping into the middle of a gang carrying baseball bats to stop them beating someone up, yet when a woman tried to force her way into the house the other week to attack me not a single person came to my aid, despite being on a main road. You did a good deed Dave, don't underestimate how big a deal that is either. You've a very short time to make a judgement and react on that, many people just freeze or walk away head down. I hope the bully gets everything he deserves. "The most powerful sexual organ in the body is our brain, open your mind and allow your fantasies free reign. Mutual pleasure between consenting adults is a wonderful thing."

in pschological terms , it's called the 'bystander' thoery .. there was an infamous case in America in which a girl was brutally stabbed to death on her own doorstep, she lived in a block of flats and no one called the police as everyone thought someone would do it.. subsequently the attacker went back to stab her a further 20 times and she bled to death surrounded by residents in thier homes.. listening to her scream.. good on ya Dave , but unfortunatly in this day and age people use guns ect.. wanker man !!!! please just stop arguing with each other.. very annoying!!!

good point...i imagine they'd be a lot less problems in society today if it wasn't for the "someone else will do it" attitude Isn't it funny that the day we realised we like you was the day you got a pool!

You will find that there are more " thats more than my jobs worth" people around than you ever guessed. Its all to easy to walk on the other side and never get involved. Have you ever stood in a crown and heard" will someone not do something", and you think why is that someone always me. Well done and keep it up, no matter what may happen. All it takes for evil to spread is for good people to do nothing.

Bystander effect and diffused responsibility. Her name was Kitty Genovese. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitty_Genovese. Well done, Butcher. You got busted, but pain passes. Pride is forever

Nah, couldn't he ran off, not that I would have anyway. Scenario: Police turn up to a fight, one side is a besuited, moneyed, well his cars worth £100k+,apparently respectable man on the other is a 6' skinhead with a busted hand and a previously broken nose. Which side do you think they are initially likely to favour? Human nature is what it is, despite all the training the police get. You never get a second chance to make a first impression! So, left it to the boys in blue, well them in white shirts and body armour anyhow. DtB Fuck Yeah. |
