Evening
Many things are written and seen regards the Premier League, or shall we call it the greed is good League? Richard Scudamore plays the part of Gecko fairly well i think.
Manchester United are sure to win their 3rd consecutive Premier league over the course of the next few games, on the field they are again the most consistent, so they are off it as well. With a shrug of the shoulders arrogance like an 18 year old who beats his 6 year old brother at tennis.
You see, Football in England is less of a level playing field than anywhere else. Clubs are allowed to be bought by people from far and wide and these people are allowed to transfer debt into the club. Gecko says rules will soon be tightened up.....but what of the clubs who have already done this? Nothing!!!
Lets delve more into the Greed is good league shall we? Across the Football Leagues and conference, clubs have been docked point this season for reasons such as going into administration and for minor paperwork breaches (Oxford Utd). Yet a couple of years ago, West ham for instance get just a big fine for the Tevez affair!!! One rule for one? yes maybe...
Im almost tempted to blame the media for making this monster. If you listen to so called pundits....who call every pass "amazing" or " unbelievable" you'd think it was another planet.....These people actually try and sell you the fact that Fulham v Sunderland is the biggest game of the century. This is what Sky have done to us! Given us Marketing.
How will this end? Maybe in the formation of a European Super League...That would certainly make it more of a level playing field.....or maybe one day Sky will get bored of football.....it could happen, then thats English clubs completely the mercy of the banks....and we know what will happen there dont we?
Speaking of Europe, i think im one of the majority who hope Barcelona win in Rome....If only to shut up the bloody pundits on Sky.

Yes, please goodness let Barcelona win. I used to really love football despite being an Oxford United fan and in the last few years I can honestly say I wouldn't go to a premiership game now even if I was offered money to do so. It is nothing like football as it should be, can be and would be in a better world. Maybe we get what we deserve and so, big teams get the premiership, Sky coverage ad nauseum to the point where no one can possibly be interested anymore, obscene salary levels, constant whining about refs and the same bloody boring few teams winning everything every season. Little teams they get...the bum deal like OU and all their ilk. I didn't ask for that but hey, football reflects capitalism and so as the rich get richer, the poor just get dumped on. I hardly ever go to football now, not even OU as I live a way away and my ex ( with whom I would attend) has also given up in despair, but when I do go, I prefer to see my local team Sandhurst Town where eat least you get a cuppa in a nice old chipped china mug and you don't feel you have been mugged for the price of entry.
24/7 subs and slaves can and do live similar lives, it is only the concept of 'ownership' which separates them. | |
