We are going to BBB this week for our first visit and we are looking at Hotels for the Sunday night. So far The Etap looks like it's convenient and well priced but most of the reviews are bad, has anybody stayed there and what did you think? Or can anyone recommend somewhere else?
Anyone that's going please say Hi. Remember you are unique, just like everyone else.

Hi, I haven't stayed in that particular Etap, but I have stayed in about 14 of them all around France. You get what you pay for, they are cheap and clean and good enough for a nights sleep. Beds are comfy, showers are those walk in kind where the whole rom is a wet room. Wouldn't recommend for a holiday or if you are used to luxurious fluffy towels and 24H room service. Not bad for the price. Hope that helps. ___________________________________

This hotel is just around the corner from the BBB venue. I stayed there about a year ago and found it ok. There's a car park opposite as well. http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-1459-ibis-birm... Have a good time at the BBB, I went myself for the first time last month and had a good time. d

I and my Master have stayed at the Etap. It's clean and has everything you would need. The toilet door does not have a lock but it's an en suite. The shower is nice and powerful. Bed is fine. It has no convenient tie off points but there is a bunk bed above it that can be used to tie off. I've stayed at Etaps a few times and they've all been much of a muchness. My main advise is bring your own breakfast (or get one from Weatherspoons just around the corner from the BBB). Everything is true ... for a given value of truth - Terry Pratchett

We stayed at a Travelodge. Just type in the postcode for the BBB and the dates and you'll get a list of hotels and prices. Unfold your heart and let me see the pain you bear because of me

Etaps are okay if you're fine with the basics. It's worth paying extra for an Ibis anday. There's only one way of life, and that's your own - The Levellers

Never tried them, but this place looks pretty cool... reasonable, all mod cons, but no windows:- (post a review on here if you do use them - looks like a kinda glorified capsule hotel.)

Having stayed in and around a lot of Birmingham before I lived here, here's my 2p's worth.... Etap = Functional and cheap. Ibis = Cheap, comfy and clean, although a little noisy from my experience there Britannia Hotel = I wouldn't send my worst enemy there Malmaison = Lush. Holiday Inn Express = Lovely, but a bit of a walk to BBB I'd blow the budget and go to Malmaison! UAE

Try www.laterooms.com Sometimes you can get a decent hotel with a decent breakfast for the price of a cheaper hotel like an Etap.

Laughs,,, Yes the IBIS is a tad loud and non-soundproof,,, I have been woken by the sexual noises of certain couples havin sex 2 times out of 3,,, but damn,,, what a wake up call! I find it lovely ,,, and also a very cool incentive if you dont wish to make the 1st move on the person your sharing your room with x yummy x It may be loud ' ish '.... but not off putting x Beleive me,, I am 110% Malmaison and have also spent nights at the Manchester venue,,,, but not everyones got £140 per room,,,,, the IBIS is good enough,, without the frills. It still appeals to me for the BBB without slumming it x Give me Malmaison anyday,, or even the Mayfair London,, or The Mandolin,,, but for a place to be,, just for the night,,, I really cannot see you will find anywhere better for the price x baby x
