Do sadists frighten or fascinate you ? (82)

This post is on the SM/Bondage/Fetish web board.

I absolutely love this thread. Loving all the comments about sadists, the way we grin, twinkle and basically drool (admit it, you mean we drool)...

I adore masochists - it is you who are fascinating.

You know that post strike exhale/cry... I consciously breathe it in.

A delicious blend of both, intertwined with enchantment, allure, trepidation and adoration.

Bliss.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body........ Rather, to skid in, broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, WOW, what a ride!

Frighten. Although how much depends on whether they've taken their medication!!

This communication was brought to you from the desk of the Pontiff Elect, the benchmark by which purity, holiness & normality are measured. Bless you.

Fascinate.

I love watching a sadist at work. The only thing I love more is "being" a sadist at work.

From when I was about 12 to 16 years old, I knew a real sadist. Someone who only liked inflicting pain WITHOUT consent or mutual enjoyment, someone without any morals, and someone who was well and truly interested in me. I did manage to escape any unwanted attentions, though a close friend got a broken jaw, but to me that is what the word 'sadist' will always mean, and I simply cannot understand the attraction. Nor can I see why someone who enjoys inflicting pain purely on the willing would want to call themselves a sadist, while people like this exist.

I think you touch on the difference between an unethical sadist (who is without moral restraint) and an ethical sadist who gets sexual pleasure from inflicting pain but cares for the victim.

Well, the word was defined for us, before we ever were born...

But what you describe seem more akin to "psychopath" than "sadist"...

To be honest, I agree. I have no problem imagining motivations for sadism - even if I can't properly express them with words.

I got no such 'emotional' access to the motivations of a masochist...

Maybe it's just the fact that I am new to it or that I am 'bent that way' but, yeah, masochism is fascinating... :)

(The only one reason I personally have for accepting pain being inflicted upon me is that, by not whimpering or weakening, by being able to stay still, I demonstrate (to myself if no one else :) ) that I can 'take it'... A bonus is obviously getting to know better what I am actually doing when I am the one in control)...

I used to be afraid but then I found a teensy-weensy one lurking inside me... now I'm fascinated ;)

Definitely scare the living daylights out of me, but then I am not a masochist, I hate pain. Why I have only ever been in love with the one man who scared me with their ability to inflict that fear and pain...God only knows!! I am just your average weirdo :-)
