It was fun to read this in The Guardian, that the news of the world have admitted that the Max Mosley case against them cost close to £1million, mainly £900.000 in legal fees. Its an expensive buisness to be in when your outing people ![]()

The Guardian still refers to the 5 women as prostitutes and also included mention of the NOTW campaign against paedophiles in the same piece, so although a welcome piece of news regarding the legal fees, it doesn't make for very good reading. I wouldn't even have the NOTW hanging up in an outside toilet, let alone consider it a 'family paper' as the editor claimed. http://www.avaaz.org/en/ |

It may have cost them a million quid, but they will get most of it back on insurance. Papers tend to be part of the National Newspaper Association's Media Liability Insurance Program just for cases like this. Science, the only religion that works even if you don't believe in it. |

Yup the wonderful Guardian. It used to have this charming little message in the small print at the foot of the personal ads (which they called soul mates, irony anyone) 'Advertisements of a sado-masochistic nature or implication will not be accepted'. After about a years unarmed combat with them they dropped it. That was about ten years ago. No apology of course. |
