Another forum I'm a member of has really annoyed me with the amount of ignorant and intolerant comments about this topic.
(by the way, the forum in question is not this one. I just realised that my comment could be a bit ambiguous. It is another forum entirely that I am bitching about)
(oh yeah, and the issues being discussed on the other forum were not anything to do with me - just a bunch of nob-ends saying how they find transexuality disgusting and unnatural and it shouldn't be allowed)

Its probably just ignorance. By that I mean they have failed to understand the issues because they haven't bothered to investigate them rather than the usual "ignorance = stupid" usage. For the most part I think IC is the forum for learning. There is certainly a lot of information on here and if you ask a question the resident knowledge base seems to find an answer very quickly!

I am sorry you are getting annoyed/upset but the world is full of ignorant and intolerant people, I'm afraid! I wish I could say something that would help, but I doubt I could or that it would do as I hoped! Not everyone's like these pond-life! Unfortunately, it does seem that people are afraid of what they don't understand! ( I don't think it was Oscar Wilde who said that one!! LOL He woulda been much wittier!)
