Are you in the Northwest UK, or can reach it? Are you going to the Preston Pony Day on May 23? Why not make a weekend of it and join us at the first meeting of the The Barnyard Club, in Warrington, an hour's drive South of Preston, on Sunday 24 May, 1 pm until 5 pm? It's not just another club or munch: more a livery stable for (human) ponies, communal kennel for (human) puppies, farm for piggies, 'great house' for maids, grooms and kennel-maids and a kinder-garden for 'young' age-players. And a munch for their Masters, Mistresses, Mummies and Daddies … More structured and safe for those in restrictive bondage as pet-players or in roles that mean they're highly dependant, as in 'young' age-players, than a typical dungeon-scene club: but more diverse and free-style than Miss Prim's Muir Academy, but adapting useful elements from both. The original idea was Shep the sheep-dog's, mid 1990s. His phrase for pet-play was, 'a holiday from humanity'. The Barnyard Club is where we can make that happen, indoors. It's something I've wanted to see happen since then, but never had the opportunity or place to do it. It's to be held in an authentic barn with original pig-stys, stables, cages, etc. place to confine puppies, plus a bar-type area for their Masters and Mistresses to mingle. This is a pilot event to gauge demand and see if it works: a few thoughts below to try and explain what I mean. I hope it will perhaps be a valuable addition for the scene, if it can be done without anyone having to subsidise it. It could become a focus for pet and pony, etc activities. It is open to anyone who brings along one or more human kitties, maids, piggies, ponies, puppies, or (adult) 'youngsters', who accepts the ethos we're trying to create and whose partner accepts our staff's right to act 'in loco parentis', if their Dom(me) put them into our care. It is also open to any singleton human kitty, maid, piggy, pony, puppy, or (adult) 'youngster, who also accepts the ethos we're trying to create, and who accepts our staff's right to act 'in loco parentis'. We do expect you to accept the limitations of your role and the authority of our staff. You can be the gender you choose, regardless of the apparent gender of your birth: but if we do ask any who are switching genders to truly enter into the spirit of things and make it easy for the rest of us to accept the gender you choose to present yourself in. No bearded bitches, please … It is not generally open to single Dom(me)s, real animals (if you're visually challenged and trained to use a guide dog we'd be delighted to offer the services of a human guide dog (s)he'd be delighted to learn the techniques), and minors under 18. Or indeed anyone who, in our view, does not accept the ethos we're trying to create. If you don't understand why we'll not allow single Dom(me)s, ask a partnered Dom friends - if you've got no such friends that may help explain why! If you argue with us about it, you'll make yourself look very silly. We'll not shift from that, we know it's needed and our sub friends insist on it. If you still want to come, just find a playmate, any age, gender, species, to bring; thereby demonstrating to us that at least one person trusts you. That can't be hard with all the subbies around desperate for a Dom(me)! If you're a switch or Dom(me) and understand why, by experience as a sub, or from unwanted advances to a partner, are experienced, but can't bring a partner, please get in touch directly with me. I'll discuss with you how you could fit in; we need a lot of help for this kind of event. Masters and Mistresses are waited on by the 'house staff', or maids brought for training. They can keep their pets or staff with them to show them off. Or check them in to the in-house grooms, kennel-maids, Butler or House-keeper. There may be pet shows or other competitions as entertainment for the Masters and Mistresses. Ponies will be stabled or exercised, perhaps on a “walker” or schooled. Puppies put in a communal cage, or maybe small cages, may be walked or trained in little tricks, etc. Piggies will be put into an authentic sty … fed on scraps, hosed down with cold water, etc. (Adult) 'youngsters' who may be put into a crèche, nursery or play-pen, depending on (scene) age, etc. Kitties will be left to their own devices to play the cute kitten, tease the puppies, or get chased. (Dogs have owners, cats have staff!) All pets have a little “passport” that gives the info. that the grooms and kennel-maids need. Someone will check with pets that it reflects their wishes. There'll be tick-lists for “owners” to instruct staff what to do with their pet. Pets must confirm they trust their Dom to decide for them. E.g. an a maid's employer could tick, “curtsying tuition”, “tuition and service as waitress”, “six of the best” … Dogs could be booked in for “grooming”, “exercise”, “gun-dog training”, “scent training”, visit to a vet, etc. So on for all the other variations … suggestions welcome! Something like this can't be done for free: one can profitably hire a night club and pack it with punters who'll entertain themselves for £20/head. By courtesy of our hosts and overheads cut to the bone, we hope to offer more, for fewer people, for less money. Time will tell if we can maintain it. We'll be asking £10 as an advance payment by Paypal, we need to know rough numbers to plan the event. Details from guy@tawse.com. £5 more on the door. Reductions possible if you'll help organise the event, can't afford it, or 'pays in kind' in food or drink. If we make an operating profit I'll hold the money over to fund the next: if we've made a loss I'll pass a hat around: more in hope than expectation and to underline the point, than to recoup my costs … We won't provide anything to eat or drink for free, feel free to bring your own, but we hope to offer tea, coffee, soft drinks, by waitress service to Masters and Mistresses, etc for a small charge. Or even give it away if someone brings along the coffee, tea or whatever … It's not going to make money, we'll be lucky to break even. I'd take hassle and abuse to make a profit, but not for something I'm doing just for fun. So if anyone is disparaging about anybody or anything, abusive or rude, or unable to get into the spirit of things, we'll ask them to leave. My brief soundings amongst puppy- and pony-girls suggest it could be very popular. Particular amongst the t-girls and male subs who struggle to find a Master or Mistress. Somewhere to try the role in a safe environment, before diving into something deeper. But do be clear it isn't a 'cheap session' with a pro-domme, but an opportunity to try to bring together people who want to play in their chosen role, with those who want to play with them, and if you come with a long menu of non-negotiable or too specific demands, you could get lonely! I will help set it up and promote an initial event, in a “Stable-Master” or “Butler” kind of role working with others, lady and gentlemen. With a Lady presiding over the Masters' and Mistresses' munch. Then if the first one works, I see my role as helping it become a continuing series. Having seen the superb venue, anyone who wants to experience the type of event that SirGuy is putting on is well advised to make the effort and go to this new venture. I've been to a couple of SirGuy's events before and have been very impressed with the amount of organisation and attention to detail that was put into them. http://www.avaaz.org/en/ |

Posted on the wrong board, so repeating my post here ... Another excellent day ... and even the weather was nice! Don't know how many people attended, but it was quite a few. We have a dog show and a pony show which were great fun; as well as a lovely kitten. Even the pig stys saw action, which was excellent. We are hoping the back field will be cleared for the next one, so hopefully the ponies can graze and the puppies can chase them! I think this will probably be a three monthly gathering, but do please let Sir Guy have your thoughts on this ... is every three months sensible? Is it best to have it the same weekend as the Pony Day so that people don't have to travel too often? What else can be done to improve it? Etc. etc. Again, so many people helped out and it wouldn't have been possible without them Some people are like slinkies ... they don't really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs |
