slave v's sub (29)

I have never been really keen on the word slave or being one. I know everyone preception of being a slave is different, but my question is this. How does everyone perceive slavery or becoming a slave to another? Do you still have a say, a safe word etc.

This is just something I have had rattling around my head for a while. I know Masters' definition but what is yours?

I don't think anyone should become a slave until their dominant knows them well enough to be able to dispose of the possible need for a safe word.

To me.... a slave has no say in what they do or what happens but they are able make suggestions, voice their opinions and talk about things, it's up to their dominant to decide whether something will/should be done or not.

Actually, the same applies to subs except for one small difference... someone can be a submissive from the outset of a D/s relationship.

To the OP, it is whatever the people concerned decide it is. One of the joys of this whole lifestyle choice, is that there are no rules.

In M/s terms, the difference between a sub and a slave is a very broad grey area. Ask 100 different M/s couples and you'll likely to get 100 different interpretations.....at least!

I have no problem with seeing the same threads as they often involve different people so can yield more information.

I consider myself a submissive as I am submissive sexually and I am not owned as I have never been in a relationship with a Dominant woman, most of my partners have come from a vanilla landscape. I have however had play sessions with Dominant people and I am currently using safe words as one I do not know them so well.........yet and two I am a lightweight when it comes to pain.

I am also very independent so for me to become a slave the person involved would have to be very special indeed. I do however act out the role of a slave, giving up all independence, with certain people for short periods of time so I know I can do it temporarily but not sure if I could full time but at the moment I am just having fun and getting to know people.
