The Glasgow United Munch is held on the 4th Thursday of each month in the Counting House (on the corner of St Vincent Street and George Square in the city centre) from 8pm until after midnight. We meet in the corner room looking out on to both George Square through one set of windows and St Vincent Street (through the other set of windows). There are also paintings of Mary Queen of Scots and John Knox hanging in this room. Depending on how many people are here on a given night, it is possible that there may be some non-munchers in the room - they usually sit at the window seats on the edge of the room as munch-goers tend to fill the room up beginning with the tables in the middle of the room. We used to have a reservation with the pub and reserved signs on the tables and walls however the bar no longer do this for us. No one person is in overall charge of the munch which means we want everyone to welcome and look after newbies and oldies alike. We encourage everyone to try out all the local munches in Scotland and to do the same with all the clubs. Most of all we try and make our evening a time of lighthearted fun and friendship.
Everyone is welcome.
If you are planning on coming for the first time and don't know anyone else, please take a look at the munch profile and feel free to memo any questions to us. If the questions are in before 12 noon on the day of the munch we will reply to you before the munch.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly bunch in real life, as well as contacting the munch profile feel free to ask some of the regular posters on previous munch threads any questions if you don't want to risk 'looking silly' posting them on the board (see how nice we are to newbie Dom/mes).
