can you think of things to add? would you change the list? do you agree?

(I'm going to use the word 'Top' to refer to anyone who is Dom or Domme or Tops someone.)

1. before you Top someone else, and are in control of their physical/mental/emotional well being, you should be in control of your own physical/mental/emotional self.

in other words, if someone didn't have self-restraint and let their emotions run away with them, i would be worried about playing with that person. i'm not saying you can't allow yourself to be caught up in the moment, where would be the fun in that. but never so much so that it unintentionally harms the bottom.

2. a Top is responsible for the bottoms physical, mental and emotional well being during the scene, and for a reasonable period of time afterwards.

that isn't to say the bottom ISN'T responsible for their physical, mental and emotional well being.

3. the Top should always be aware of the value of the sub, and the amount of trust being entrusted to them during a scene. that trust should never be abused.

4. the well being of the bottom should be the Tops number 1 concern AT ALL TIMES! in other words, the Top should never go outside agreed limits in order to satisfy their own desires at the expense of the subs hard limits.

5. the bottom should never be afraid to safeword, nor should there ever be negative repercussions for safewording.

Oh I'm a great fan of Bruno. (It followed naturally from "i believe there are certain qualities a Dom or Domme should have before they Top others. )
