They say we are related most closely to chimps, and that might be correct, because chimps are rather nasty, aggressive creatures. It would be nice to think that the orang-utan was our closest relative, because they are such engaging, gentle animals. But one thing is certain though; if they become extinct then we will have killed our brother. Palm oil is ubiquitous. It is wise to check the ingredients of things you buy, because it occurs in all sorts of unexpected places. I am certainly not going to buy anything with palm oil in it from now on.
