and go manage a chain of garden centres or something.
Today, Luton Town FC took over 40,000 fans to the new wembley for the Johnston paint trophy final versus Scunthorpe. The competition itself is relatively meaningless in the grand scheme of things aside from the fact that its a certain Brian Mawhinneys creation as he championed it.
For those that are interested the Football League issues Luton town with a 30 point deduction at the beginning of the season.....or in other words condemned them to a certain relegation from the Football League.
Mawhinney was greeted to a chorus of jeers and boos louder than any crowd ive heard at wembley before, and good for them. They didnt smash the place up they let their feelings be heard to a man who has unjustly in my opinion potentially taken their lifeblood away from them.
As a side note not only do the Football league come out of this badly but also Wembley too. Luton could and would have sold another 8000 tickets but were refused due to crowd segregation issues, so the game was played in front of 55000 spectators. Christ, if we can't deal with this then best we don't get the World Cup in 2018.
By the way, Luton beat Scunthorpe 3-2 in the end

He got the same last year in the Division 1 play off final....sadly for Luton he had backed himself into a corner the year before. Congratulations on the win ... hopefully they can take that confidence and stick another two fingers up to " Haw Haw", as we know him in Leeds, and pull of the great escape.

Well done, and good luck with the fight against relegation. Mr Mawhinney was as useless a Tory minister as he is a football administrator. Watch this summer as he kills off Darlington FC.

Yea ticket allocation is dumb. remember being at the old wembley with similar allocation problems for a play-off final. Malwhiney could screw up anything but luton screwed themselves when they put themselves at the mercy of this joker. Btw thats nothing to how FA officials get treated at england away games, rightly so.

I quite understand I am not a Darlington, Bournemouth, Rotherham, Leeds or Luton fan. But when I see the little man been hammered by this waste of space and his inconsistancy. Can he answer why Southampton have not had the same treatment. He is running the lower divisions of the football league in a similar manner to the way Bernie Ecclestone runs F1. If you don't sing his tune you are out.

Southampton have a period in which if they can get out of administration the points wont be docked, and if they are , it is at the start of the next season I beleive. "Litany, a poncy show-off with wit, a camera, and his own teeth *swoon*"

Yes but Darlington are in the same position as Southampton and have been told if they don't get out of administration they will be kicked out of the league! That is why I choose Southampton as an example, thier perferrential treatment is not fair on other clubs in the same position.

OOPs Forgot Leeds got a 15 point deduction for doing a Southampton as well as been deducted 10 points at the time of going into administration. Consistany, is all football fans ask. P.S. I wish Southampton well, however all clubs must be treated equally to achieve this. I think therefore I am!

Southampton have always been jammy bastards. Everytime wimbledon avoided the drop they got hailled as escape artists wereas a club just as mediocre gets treated like its some sort of sleeping giant. they rode their luck with a dodgy pitch at the Dell and had the true one player outfit with one stiker tallying over half their goals which was never pointed out. Shit for some reason never sticks to them. I'm not a pompey fan its something ive noticed over the years. Ironicly its St Marys that found em out as the dodgy pitch went(Check their home record previous to StMarys).
