Just joined Twitter and I must say there are a lot people into BDSM, spanking etc on Twiter from the US and around the world but hardly anyone from the UK. Just seems odd there are hardly any of us using it from the UK.

The trouble with Twitter is the tedious shit people put on it. Went for pooh, it was a big one. Cat scratched at the door wanting in. Postman brought book from Amazon. zzzzzzzz.

Science, the only religion that works even if you don't believe in it.

The only explanation I can think of is that quite a lot of English folk like to keep themselves to themselves if they know they're not in a like-minded atmosphere.

And then there's the issue that if their vanilla friends found out before they were willing to tell them, things may just get a little problematic..

I know a lot of people that have just set up two twitter accounts: one vanilla and one for play. It's just a matter of remembering to post to the correct one ;)

I don't do this because I enjoy it. It's strictly for educational purposes and the betterment of the deviant community.

There are plenty of us on there - you just need to know where to look

I joined Twitter in May 2007, but I only started using it recently, and then only to link to my rants^H^H^H^H weblog posts and anything particularly interesting. I don't do the "washed hands, had tea" sort of tweets that some people do, but I still think it's quite handy and turns up interesting stuff if you're selective about who you follow.

The voyeurism that this country is bred on via its televisual communications means that "Twitter" should go down extremely well. The widest watched programmes are fantasy-voyeur based upon watching what others are doing in their fictionial lifes, that combined with the everpresent desire for more gossip on the tabloid created "Celebs" equals a feeding frenzy for the masses...

Twitter = Something to do when theres no soaps on.

Would i use it... would i fuck.

Twitter is an extremely useful and specific search engine for communities and people discussing specific topics. Most people neither understand what it does nor how to use it properly. Some people only see the banal aspects and ignore the more powerful search functions - they have a very shallow understanding.

Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian Spring:

There shallow Draughts intoxicate the Brain,

And drinking largely sobers us again."

I deliver courses in (amongst other things) social networking. I'm a Twitter user and a big fan and I can report that the consensus amongs the professionals I know who use it is that it is almost certain to become powerful and more widely used than blogging in a short space of time.

What I think is likely to happen, though, is that most people will prefer not to mix their BDSM lives with the "ordinary" working and personal lives on Twitter because it will blow their cover.

On that note, I see that I now have Number 10 Downing Street following me on Twitter. (Clue: all you have to do is follow them and they follow you!)

There may be more than one way to skin a cat - but there is only one try per cat.

Its surprising how boring the posts of celebs are.I know they cant be entertaining all the time but an insight into the more interesting aspects of their lives does seem lacking
