Here's a reminder that what we do, consensually for fun, can also be a woman's worst nightmare. Does the fact that it's Keira Knightley and you know it's only acting allow you to be turned on by it?

In its full context it violates no law, its only if you start to seperate parts of it.

Some people say i am evil, i have no idea why they think that.

I am horrified by it to be honest despite the fact that it is fiction. Taking it out of context and suggesting anyone could turned on by it worries me slightly - I am sure some people will be - there is no accounting for people's proclivities.

For me the message behind the ad is clear. I would like to think it is entirely effective as an ad campaign.

Abuse is abuse - no I'm not turned on by it I'm afraid.

It's not exactly sexualised harm anyways - I'm guessing there will be a few people on here who enjoy being pulled to the floor and kicked in the gut but I'm also guessing that's a very small minority!

Your text is ambiguous. But, the link is not a reminder of anything this site is about.

If members of this site have trouble differentiating between domestic violence and BDSM then it should not be suprising that the wider community has problems understanding BDSM either.

And are you saying that you are turned on by the link?

Here comes a whizz-bang, and I think you know what I'm talking about, woof!

Not turned on in the slightest it makes me sad and makes me want to help her even tho I know its not real. I'd be a bit worried about myself if I got turned on by it but then I don't get turned on by BDSM porn anyway.

I think there are aspects of this that are erotic in a BDSM sense, but of course, the massive, massive difference is that we do this consensually.

I am strongly against domestic violence in all its forms and support the message of the advert wholeheartedly.

What I was saying is that given that you know these are actors and that the violence, tension and threats are simulated, it's possible to have an ambiguous reaction to the clip itself.

A dirty mind is a joy for life. :-p

Didn't find it terribly hot, it was a bit weird. You didn't really see the slap, and the way she says "please, I didn't agree to this," is a turn off. Then he picks her up by her hair a bit - again, could be kinda hot but you don't see much and then he just lets go - why did he pick her up in the first place? Then he starts kicking her in the gut and she covers her head but leaves her stomach totally open? Pretty sure when you're getting kicked in the gut your reaction is to pull your legs up to protect yourself, but she doesn't. It just looks fake in a bad way. Don't find kicking especially hot anyway. I guess it's kind of of shocking and sad and might make some people write a cheque, but I'd rather see something targeted at abused women encouraging them to get out or seek help, this just seems like a revenue spinner.

I do find the fantasy of domestic abuse hot, just like lots of people find the fantasy of rape hot. Not sure why the latter is accepted and the former should worry anyone. It's fantasy, nothing more. This ad in particular I don't find hot, but there's similar scenes in movies and TV shows I've seen that have been hot, and I know plenty of people who think the same.
