There comes a time in life when, for whatever reason, you realise that you've been relying more heavily on those around you than you usually do.
Sometimes it's for the practical help, such as speaking to official people on your behalf when you can't hold it together to make a phonecall, or sorting your bills & finances out for that month, or helping you to cook meals when your cooker's being mended, or cleaning the house for you when you have no energy or inclination to do so.
Sometimes it's for the emotional support, such as allowing themselves to be talked at for (literally) hours and hours on end, day after day and night after night, about the same thing, without complaint or even the merest hint of eye-rolling, or checking in with text messages throughout the day just asking how you're feeling, or just letting you know that they're thinking of you and that it'll be alright.
Sometimes it's for the company, such as sitting with you til 5am because they know you can't sleep and they don't want you to feel alone at a time when they know you're incredibly vulnerable and tearful, or texting you to let you know that although they're offline, they have their phone with them and if you need them (day or night) you can call, or just sending a quick message to remind you that you are not as alone as you feel right now.
Sometimes it's for the distraction, such as taking your mind off things that are worrying you with talk of silly websites, or planning parties over the summer, or reminiscing about crazy people you once used to know, or laughing at the silliness that goes on around us daily that mostly we don't stop to notice, or even just to tell you that you still have good baps.
So to JL, Musing, Hells, JJJ, MarcusL, Dale, and Skyhook: THANK YOU for being my rocks through this - I couldn't have even started to cope without you. x

You are always welcome, Crys. It will get better. Tch, whoever was crass enough to talk about baps while you are down like this needs to have a word with themselves. Cough. "Me? I'm all about the hugs. Edited 31 Mar 09, 7:22 AM by Skyhook | |||
