I have bacterial vaginosis which means that i wash to much. Now my obsession used to be up to 8 baths a day in 'the obsessive' phase. Now it is only two times a day, I like to be clean.
However, it turns out that if your a girl these things are not good for your special kind.
Causing bacteria (the wrong bacteria) to build and the vagina's natural defences to fuck up.
Its only a few anti biotics to clear it up.
But then i have to wear cotton knickers, the woman said only 3 or the limit 4 baths a week. No soap or smelly products, i can only use dove soap. She also said i should grow my pubic hair as it is a natural defence.
I can't imagine much worse than only having four baths a week (that isn't even one a day!) The thought of it is already making me edgy!
Any ideas as it is not possible for me to do that - are there any special knickers one can buy for in the bath to stop water entering vagina? Just thinking of not having a bath tonight makes me want to wash again, right now!

Try thoose plastic knickers what babies use over natural nappies.I believe a size large should fit an adult.

I feel your pain, I really do (I'd hate to have my number of showers restricted), but that is the best name for a medical condition I've ever heard. "I want that cocksucker to send me at least fifty thousand fucking dollars. And if she can't do it, I'll try ten. If she can't do that, I'll try five. But that's it. If you've got a dowry of five thousand dollars, come out here and suck me off and do what I tell you from now on."

Pmsl i know, it sounds really disgusting doesn't it! I, I, I can't handle not bathing ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! And i'm not going to wear nappies, there must be another alternative somewhere. The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing and then they marry him.

Can I suggest you stand in the bathe, wash up as far as possible. Then wash down as far as possible. And, leave your "possible" quite alone. Best of luck.
Having to grow your pubes must be a dreadful trial! :D Rules is rules...

I have also had BV in the past , I was told it was due to shaving with perfumed gel and that I should use something like the boots own foam wash specific for the "intimate" areas. I also use the balance gel that is also specific to maintaining the pH levels, you can get those from boots.
I would suggest cutting back on the baths and having showers instead, buy the correct foam wash to use for shaving and get some of the balance gel to use once a week .. well it works for me

Had BV, didn't sleep for a month, it sucked. It's notoriously difficult to treat and there has been a big increase of cases in the last 10yrs or so. Much of the advice is conflicting but here's mine based on experience: Use no soap, (that includes Dove- it's no different). You can wash but just use tepid water. Sit on the loo and use a bottle to tip it over yourself. You don't need to wash 8 times a day. If you're washing yourself with soap 8 times a day, that's a sure recipe for BV. Never put perfumed products in the bath. I recommend hair removal but that's just based on personal experience - it's cleaner and cooler. If you don't remove hair then use a hairdryer to dry yourself after washing(!) Go without knix, get as much air as you can circulating round there! If you do wear nix don't wear thongs or artificial fibres. Go for the baggy, cotton Bridget Jones ones. Take vit B (tons of green veg, brown rice, wholemeal bread etc). Go without alcohol, sugar, caffeine ( I find prolongued use of paracetomol brings on bv for some reason) Don't use ribbed condoms. Now for the best bit of news: You can buy a gel in Boots called Biofem (although I prefer to call it Itchy Fanny Gel) which is v effective, should be available on prescription. It was recommended by a nurse at the gynae unit (the doc there didn't have a clue about self-help). The gel is aloe vera and other natural things, it makes you feel really clean and it knocks the bugs on the head. You can also use it as a lubricant for tampons. It's really important to let the affected area heal itself. You can also buy a foamy non-soap fanny wash type thing in Boots but maybe leave that for a little while till you've got over this bout.
Lastly - don't scratch. Ever. It makes it a million times worse. If necessary, get someone to tie your hands behind your back (shouldn't be difficult to find a volunteer Best of luck

What about showers? They should be fine in terms of avoidinf flooding certain areas, shouldn't they?

Yes I would have thought showers as long as you are not using loads of products in your 'possible' area (I loved that). Have been fortunate not to have this problem before. I hope all the tips help.

Yeah all the advice has been great, especially from Toza however, I dont 'have a shower though, i think I need to get one really. The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing and then they marry him.

You can get those rubber thingies with a shower head that fit over your taps as an interim measure until you can get a shower fitted. Might be better for you than sitting in water. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
