In the end, of course, you may find there are aspects of subbing that just aren't for you. You may even reject the whole thing ultimately, but that's OK; you're just exploring and who knows, you may surprise yourself. I've astonished myself in the last year. One last thought about the s/m thing: you don't have to be 'hard' to be a masochist. I think it's largely in the mind and has a deep connection to d/s in my view. I never thought I'd like it myself.
