A year ago today was the last time I had a perfect day. It was also the first and last time I asked someone to marry me.
Shock! Horror! Me actually talking about marriage! Well, it was a perfect day and I asked the love of my soul if he would join me in a handfasting.
He didn't say no, but he didn't say yes and things have now happened that would make such a thing impossible. Water has passed under the bridge and I have had to wait for this to happen before I can now focus on the good and positive that happened; why it was such a perfect day.
Now I can list the things he said and did that made me feel amazing everyday, that kept me going through some of the darkest hours of my life, that gave me the self belief to carry on when all seemed lost.
He was there to catch me when I passed out, always ready with a kind word, he knew when I pretended to be well, he knew when I needed assistance but would never ask, he never made a thing of my disability but was always there with a supporting arm or encouraging word. My time with him was so easy, so simple, so amazing. He made me feel like a Queen every day with little gestures and words. No man before or since has ever made me feel this way.
If I ever date again, and that's a big IF; I would want to feel like that again. And, no he was not scene tho he was intrigued by it all and amazed that I actively took part in something that he considered to only ever be a fantasy.
It was not all wonderful, he is no longer in my life, but those things are not important now, only the positve and the lessons I learnt matter now. And the happy memories.
Sorry, there was no sexual or intimate contact during the time we spent in each others lives! Sorry to disappoint you!
I hope that before this time next year I get to have another perfect day, but this one, my first in years; will live forever in my heart.

Your blog has brought back memories of a day I spent recently. I've been working closely with someone and we hit it off straight away. He took me out to one of his favourite places and we had such a lovely day. No sex but a couple of kisses. It was perfect. I'll never see him again so it makes the day very special.

A perfect day is a beautiful thing and I hope that you find another - though perfection everday would lose it's perfection. Perhaps in between those perfect days, we need to appreciate the imperfections of the world too.
