CAAN are the facilitators of one of the 2pm sessions in Manchester, and Alex Dymock will be speaking for backlash together with John Ozimek for The Register on panel 3 in Cambridge on Internet Censorship in the UK: Why, how, and by whom?. Sadly MP Martin Salter declined to appear with them. As well as London, Cambridge and Manchester there are events at Belfast, Bristol, Cardiff, and Glasgow. The convention is a call to arms against attacks on our fundamental rights and freedoms. It asks, under pressure from counter terrorism, financial breakdown and the database state, What are the threats? What can be done about them? Why should everyone care? Worth checking out what's on near you.

This is the title Sexual Freedom and the Slippery Slope. Sexual liberty is one of the many areas which the goverment has been clamping down on over the last decade. Claiming to prevent us from 'harm', the restrictions are becoming ever wider. Most recently the government has legislated against 'extreme pornography' which has implications that are extreme indeed but have less to do with pornography than with the right for consenting adults to enjoy sexual freedom. The Consenting Adult Action Network has formed as a protest against the increasing restrictions on our sexual liberty. Come and discuss the recent changes in legislation and find out how you can get involved.
