Because the right thing maybe the wrong thing to someone else. The al qaeda believe they're doing the right thing. Israel believe they did the right thing. How do you know what the right thing is?. It's a 50/50 shot that you might be doing the wrong thing. If you do nothing you could still be doing the wrong thing but at least you won't be wasting your own time.
