Does anyone know where I can get a print of this Max Ernst painting? It's proper title is "Max Ernst, La vierge corrigeant l'enfant Jésus devant trois témoins: André Breton, Paul Eluard et le peintre". I have tried the Museum Ludwig website and various online sites purporting to sell Max Ernst prints, but they don't seem to do this one. Now maybe it simply isn't that popular with the art print buying public, or maybe it's so controversial that no self-respecting print-house would dare to offer it in case the right-wing religious of the world try to shut them down. Whichever it is, I really want one to frame and hang on my landing! I would be grateful for any assistance. Best regards Richard "Come to the edge. We can't. We're afraid. Come to the edge. We can't. We will fall! Come to the edge. And they came. And he pushed. And they flew." - Guillaume Apollinaire Edited Tue 24 Feb 09, 9:27 AM by RichardNewbury

Knocked the halo right off that boy! I don't do this because I enjoy it. It's strictly for educational purposes and the betterment of the deviant community.

I'm not sure, I had a photocopy a while ago. There is a wonderful Carol Ann Duffy inspired by the poem, "Virgin punishing the infant." I'm aware that no part of that actually answered your question but I thought I'd join in anyway. All of us are in the gutter, but some of us are looking up at the stars. Oscar Wilde.

Whatever it is, it's some 2000+ years late to be a contemporary of Mark spanking Jesus.

Glad to see from the responses that you all appreciate the pic! A reference to this picture on a, somewhat right-leaning, spanking site, led to posts being edited and removed on the basis that the reference constituted 'discussing the spanking of minors'! Thank you, Scarlett, for the feedback. As you can see I have drawn a blank so far. I have found the poem though. Here it is (about half way down the page under the picture).
