It's crazy, but I have to mail my tourist visa application to Oakland, and then come in for an appointment. Huh? I don't exactly get it, but hey.
So, $100 later, I'll hopefully have a visa. ::crosses fingers:: If I do, I'm aiming to be back for a month and a half, maybe two months, March 10th-May 5th or so. Hopehopehope! I can't wait to get back to London, there's so much I want to get on.
I have a lead on doing a really interesting event which I'm excited about- it'll be a version of something here in SF that I think will be amazingly fun as well as a challenge to the British stiff upper lip and "way we do things". I don't want to say too much though in case I jinx it!
Living with my grandma has been interesting. She knows about my lifestyle, but can't decide if she's glad I'm happy or thinks I'm crazy. She keeps asking if I think I could be happy in a monogamous relationship... and I have to say, it *could* happen, if I met the right person... but the right person wouldn't ask me to be monogamous! 
I'm also very excited for Burning Man and have some leads on who to camp with, which is exciting and fun. I have no idea if it'll be mostly my US friends I'm with or if my British friends will come through, but it's going to be a great Burn regardless.
And my dad is coming to SF for Maker Faire, which is a really good crafty thing and full of weird art like Dance Dance Immolation and the Life Size Mousetrap.
This weekend, in true bay area fashion, I have a sock puppet party, a corset-themed art opening and the Chocolate Martini Experiment to go to. And I said I didn't think I'd get into this whole thing... ah well. I'm still sticking to my guns on the celibacy thing and frankly? Contrary to popular belief, I don't really miss it. And man, am I really beginning to get pleasure from music, and the sunshine, and all these others things outside of people. It's good. I'm learning. Onwards and upwards!
