I need one. Cream chaise lounges do not mix with red wine drinkers.

Does anyone know of any reasonably priced upholsterers in South Manchester?

For future use.. when the red wine is still wet, use white wine to get the stain out! we tried it on a cream carpet and it worked a treat.

Alternatively buy several dozen bottles of red and soak the whole thing - it'll be a lot cheaper than re-upholstery.

What fabric is it?

It's a thick flock cotton, which was re-covered around 5 years ago.

Hum. You may want to try resoaking the area with warm/hot water and covering it with salt. Remove the salt once it has absorbed as much of the liquid as possible and blot dryish with alcohol. Alternatively get some 6% or 9% hydrogen peroxide from your local pharmacy, mix in a little liquid soap and soak the stain in this... but don't massage it in, you risk spreading the stain further.

The second usually works for me and I spill wine on my chaise all the time... I personally think me and my chaise mix very well :*

If it was just one patch then yes, but there are several everywhere and it's sooo cream that's it's unrealistic to keep clean in a living room (it's was originally in my bedroom)

That said, I've just been quoted £450 to recover it, so I might have to get handy with a staplegun myself

Ah, I see... Maybe this time upholster with a more practical/ resilient fabric? :)

Good luck!

There's an independent upholsterer on Burton Road, opp Sommerfield. I've no idea how good he is but he's been there since the dawn of time so he's got to be doing something right...

Compliance for fun? Hell yes.
