Word of the Day: "neuzelen"

But what does it mean? My online dictionary gives this entry for "nuzzle"

nuzzle: verb (trans.) rub or push against gently with the nose and mouth :

ORIGIN late Middle English (in the sense [grovel] ): frequentative from NOSE , reinforced by Dutch neuzelen 'poke with the nose.'

It's that Dutch 'poke with the nose' thing. Is that what "neuzelen" really means in Dutch? I've Googled and used the online translators but I am just not sure.

I want everyone to say the word, so you can feel just what an excellent word it is (I think the "z" might be softened to a "sth" sound, but I am not sure). It is the word of the day and so long as it does not translate into something like "lorry axle" or "deformed ankle", but really does have some "poke with the nose" meaning, it might have to be her new name.

In need of being added to the dictionary

I don't knowe, but what do you call the bit of your 'phone that you have to take out to connect the recharger?

The isocitrate molecule is oxidized by a NAD molecule. The NAD molecule is reduced by the hydrogen atom and the hydroxyl group. The NAD binds with a hydrogen atom and carries off the other hydrogen atom leaving a carbonyl group. This structure is very unstable, so a molecule of CO2 is released.

And I thought it was two antipodean islands......

Why poison your liver when I could eat it for you?
I don't want you to be perfect, but I do want to see you struggle.

So nuzzle is a frequentative verb, how interesting! (denominative, too, of course)

And yet I have to say "I often nuzzle". Isn't it sad that the adverb is now required to express what the verb alone could once convey!

Nuzzling - so sweetly self-diminutive and affectionately honorific to the nuzlee.

Dogs and wolves greet their pack leaders like this, and maybe there's a bit of that in some of us, too. :)

I'm practically illiterate so could have this all arse about face, but isn't "I often nuzzle" a split infinitive? This really would trouble me because nuzzling is such a gentle activity. Nothing should get split when nuzzling. We should nuzzle often, no?

"Nuzzling - so sweetly self-diminutive and affectionately honorific to the nuzlee."

That's lovely. It's interesting though. The lion who holds his lioness beneath him, powerful jaw and teeth firm but tender clasping her shoulder, as he performs. Honorific definitely but is he diminished or any sense diminutive when should he conclude by nuzzling her? It could be?

Nuzzling may not appear on the giant list of tick boxes on IC, but you can take a slut who is not into nuzzling and being nuzzled is no slut for me!

Ahem, your nose must surely be growing longer! ;)

"I promise to often nuzzle you", that'd be a split infinitive. Not that you'd catch me saying such an uncouth thing, of course.

I was writing from my own perspective, but done as the lion does from on top, maybe it could be called power-nuzzling. :)

Ah, power-nuzzling. Perhaps we are at the heart of the matter. I love my words but nowhere else do I find the adoption of labels so detrimental in their application to our sexuality! In this, classification is the stultification of spiritual growth. Thank God our lion does not have to consider whether his nuzzling is sweetly self-diminutive or honorific. He nuzzles his mate with no heed to the excesses of nomenclature.

A show of strength in humility? The authority in being humble? To strip away the machismo and live with ones own flaws, insecurities and vulnerabilities and to have the truer strength to share them rather than hide behind a mask.

So much talk of Dominance and submission. Whip wielding, switch swinging, l-am-a-Dom talking. One of greatest acts of submissions was accorded me when I said "please", and meant it. Not so Domly many would say. But before complying she did call me a bastard for pulling such a stroke ( there's that conceit of mine, I freely admit it)

I am not a Dom, and I will nuzzle and be nuzzled. Perhaps the last line "and the warm mothering safety of her arms" of Seeing Red is particularly in the vein of sweetly self-diminutive or honorific nuzzling. Neither labels nor rules should hold sway over the way we love.

I love this image - strength and tenderness - love it

O bugger me it's hard being interesting all the time. I envy people who can be interesting in 300 characters or less
