Hello IC people 
I feel a bit weird about it, but I figured it was about time I told everyone this, as some people are using my newer name and we're getting crossovers and confusion in public, so I thought it was better to explain.
I have an unofficial preferred name, and it is Dennis (Not Denis or Denise... but Dennis, like Dennis the Menace). http://dogpossum.org/archives/image/Dennis%20the...
I am not changing my name legally because I am awful at paperwork and because my given name Clair Lewis is known in various circles enough that I don't want to change it and have to start again like I am a different person. So call it a nickname if you like. Some of my friends have been using it for ages while I tried it for size, so I'm sorry if you already know all this!
I will not be offended if anyone does not use it. In anything official including press quotes and writing, anything which is work, and so on, I am likely to continue to use my legal name for continuity.
Also some people are using De as a shortening (because De is also a shortening of Degenerate).
Let's face it, Dennis suits me better than Clair.
*smiles* And yes it's cos I'm (gender)queer.

This is one of those situations where I do the shrug of 'each to their own' but am confused. *G* No malice intended what so ever... just... Dennis? for someone I have only seen as a 'girlie girl'? Dennis the menace does suit you, so is Lucy now going to be Minnie the minx? Of course they do Dennis the Menace bike helmets so when you are ready for your trip.....

You have to do what feels right for you, and if its Dennis then so be it! You are still the same person. Cor I have been getting nagged my little lady to tell everyone because it's been causing confusion, but phew that felt really difficult and edgy to do!

cheers sweetie! Yeah I already was using Dennis which is why when you found the trike I said 'It's a Dennis trike!' - for anyone who doesn't know I am now the proud owner of a wheelchair accessible trike Wayne found on ebay (which needs new spark plug apparently)!
