Earlier this year my answer would've been 'uncomfortably'.

Today I received two, one for my complexion and another for my handwriting. I'm proud to say I felt no awkwardness. Both compliments were surprising and very pleasant. I beamed a big beam of a smile, said 'thank you', and walked away feeling wonderful.

Can you see me beam...

:-D

I feel better about myself.

I'm not looking for the flaws when someone gives me a compliment. Instead, I'm able to enjoy the fact that someone has noticed something they like about about me and are kind/giving enough to say so.

I'm getting better at giving compliments too...

Beam...

:-D

It's difficult, isn't it? I've only just started to receive complements in the spirit they were given. In my case, it was a case of not feeling good about myself. It was probably when I got online and started "meeting" people like myself that things started to change. Now I've met people in r/l and have a strong network of real friends, and life is really good!

Glad things are working out for you and that you are happy enough to take a complement :)
