I do despair of the younger generation sometimes. I arranged with K for her to come & take the dogs out for a walk at 10.15 this morning, after numerous phonecalls to see when she would be turning up, she arrived at 4.30!
She is 17 (realistic age approx 12 years) and has found out she is pregnant and is planning on keeping the baby. The father is still at school.
She buggered up her apprenticeship place in animal care by not turning up at the farm (she wanted to spend time with her boyfriend instead).
She can't be relied on to do anything she says she is going to do.
I do so hope that she changes before her baby arrives - if not, what kind of a life will the child have?
I've explained to her that her child will not wait 6 hours for a nappy change or to be fed and that she will have to change.
Nuff said - this has caused me to despair ![]()

I know excatly what you mean hun, I've seen this all to often and its becoming more and more frequent. Sometimes though it's the kick up the arse they need, I've seen people that were tragic totally change after the birth of a child and become excellent parents. ((huggs)) D xx Head of The Tribe.

Is 19, not pregnant, not going to get pregnant, keeps appointments, goes to lectures at University, gets good grades, goes to the gym often, has a social life that doesnt revolve around drink, serves her Master well and thinks that maybe, just maybe, young people should occasionally be given some credit. generally, I do give credit as I was young once also It is a specific case, not general dig at young people. If you read my original post, I have said I hope she changes the way she is before the baby arrives.

I know it was more a despair on the specific person, but it did start with a sentance despairing of the younger generation! I despair of people like that too, i just don't think that sort of stupidity is age related!
