Well we are just back from a wonderful weekend away in Wales, and the memories are the happiest I have ever had in my life thanks to luke.

It was my treat to take him away for his birthday and I decided to let him get away from it all. We rented a cottage in the middle of 700 acres of a sheep farm - we arrived in the dark, having to take our new sports car over the narrowest bridge you can imagine - with inches to spare.. then through woodland and muddy stony tracks we arrived at our destination. Poor luke thought I had taken him away from civilisation for ever - and soon took back the cursing of me packing tins of beans and supplies as he realised we really were miles from nowhere!

We had virtual hosts-the key was left in the lock, money was to be left in a bowl and we found a wood burner with logs ready and a tv- of course all the programmes were in welsh and it took me all night to learn how to light the burner!! Well at least the kettle worked - woe betide if I had deprived him of his cup of tea too!

Anyway the bed was cosy and after a wonderful sleep we woke to a new day, in the middle of a field!

I made luke his cooked breakfast so he ventured out to sit beside the - now lit - wood fire. We decided to get out and explore as soon as possible - of course this had nothing to do with luke not liking sheep, but he really does prefer people!

So off we went ..

The day has left memories etched in my mind of wildlife crossing our path, to include a pair of eagles just flying over our car bonnet to their resting place, a suicidal squirrel running the gauntlet beofre our wheels and pheasants being King of the road.

The views were awesome, beautiful clean green scenery, lots of streams and mountains coming in to view with snow topped peaks. We ended the day seeking out a waterfall.. and finding - for the cost of Ł1 coin a succession of falls that took our breath away to see and turned me to tears for the atmosphere they offered.

Luke has shown and shared so much and fulfilled so many of my dreams and quests.. this one which I shared with him will never be forgotten, we threw coins in and made a wish and said we would return one day.

We returned home cold but enthralled with the sights - little did we know what was coming the next day!

Sunday morning and a later start following a lovely full english breakfast and perfect company! We set off today to find the tallest waterfall in wales, it has been a passion of mine to walk below a fall and have never had the opportunity to even see a real waterfall up close so this was an adventure for me. We set off, passing over the narrow bridge with a bit more confidence - but still both breathing out a sigh of relief once were had passed!

We drove on roads that became narrower and narrower and ended up sighting a rainbow just before we arrived at our destination.. nothing special you may think, but to us it was, you see our path took us to that rainbows end - where not a pot of gold was buried but we were together with each other and that is more precious to me than any pot of gold is.

We knew this was another omen on our trip amongst other messages that were catching our attention, and I am enthralled that I shared so much with luke that he hadnt with anyone else, plus memories that will never fail to make me smile too.

So yes eventually we found the waterfall - and what a waterfall it was. Now me being the enthusiastic fool I am, saw an opportunity in the water before it .. so I did - frozen toes followed and the power of the fall was amazing, even I was scared to venture forward more for fear of being swept away in the turbulent pool below, the force sprayed me from head to toe, and I had to retreat as I could no longer feel my feet - well it is end of November ! I achieved a lifetimes dream and luke took a picture to prove it !

We dragged me back to the little cafe, and a huge st Bernard dog looked up at me as if to say I needed a brandy - I certainly felt like it!

We left this mountain retreat and started back to the cottage, I was smiling like I never had before - the sky opened and the rain washed our car, but I never noticed that much - I was still so full of what the rainbow had brought us.. more was to come.

Another night in the lonely cottage but we decided to do a tarot reading for each other, the positiveness and exactness of these readings surprised us both, and hope for our future both personal and business seemed to be on the right track.

The last morning was spent eating breakfast listening to Meat Loaf - I think we woke the sheep up ! We decided to do a bit of shopping in the local town on the way home.. now what happened there - for now, is between myself and Luke.. but we dined at a gorgeous old mill and were once again taken away by the beauty of it and the river flowing past, and the surroundings. We drove home happy and content with dreams in the making and not thinking anything else could happen found ouorself in a snowfall to bring a suitable end to our holiday and its memories.

What happens next is in the hands of lady luck and our determination to see it through. But for me - the committment from luke, the joy of spending a wonderful holiday with him and making so many of my dreams come true has made this trip the happiest of my life.. without luke I wouldnt have had such an opportunity to do so many things, and together we have now seen and shared things that neither of us have done with anyone else before us - and probably will not again.

Wales brought us together in a way that I will never forget, and gave us sights and messages that gives us drive purpose and more dreams. I intend to now do whatever it takes to fulfill our next passion.. whaever it takes, however long it takes - luke - I will give you what you desire.. I promise.
