Sorry I didn't make it. I ended up in Coventry (that's the place and no reference to RnP's post). A dirty mind is a joy for life.

Really sorry you didn't have a good time.
As organiser, I don't always have time to speak to everyone (especially a night like tonight which was very well attended) so it's necessary to prioritise. Anyone who turns up their own gets first priority - they will be approached and introduced to a group of people. I will either do this myself or give someone else a prod and ask them to do this for me if I'm busy with another newcomer or catching up with my own friends.
Couples and groups get second priority because it's a safe assumption that a group or a couple are much better equipped to approach others than someone arriving on their own.
This is the most logical way to do things and seems to work most of the time but it's not fool proof and sometimes people do slip through the net. To reiterate what others have said: you get as much out of these events as you put in. Sometimes it does need a bit of a push and it's a hell of a lot harder for people arriving on their own than it is for groups or couples which is why I work on the assumption that if need be, groups and couples can make their own approaches.
Once again, sorry you were disappointed.

Well after a long period of trying to actually find the time to attend a munch, we actually got to the one this evening. We didn't opt for the Meet and Greet has we have the confidence to walk into a room of strangers, we consider ourselves to be friendly and approachable.
What can i say, Hmm, Would have been nice to be spoken to and before anyone states, nothing stopping you, we did, only for one lady to turn her back on us, which kind of set the tone for the evening.
Well, needless to say, It's very unlikely we shall be attending another and as this was a chance to meet a few people before attending Lash, doesn't look like that will happen now.
Thanks for making us feel welcome, was really worth all the effort it took to get their this evening. The best thing about tonight, was only paying a fiver for parking.

The single guy in the brown jumper. Knows a couple of people but still the single guy in the corner in manyways. But people said hi, people were nice to me.

Yes,a lovely crowd and a nice munch. What a great shame that it had to end as it did and so distressing for those affected. Lets take steps to see that it doesn't happen to us again.
I feel certain that we were hit by professional thieves from outside, not chancers, but we can make sure we are safer in future.

This type of post makes my blood boil. One person didn't acknowledge you, so the evening's a failure? For fuck's sake, grow up! Toza and Belasarius, the organisers, have seen this munch grow from nothing to very successful in a relatively short period of time and you should have taken advantage of the meet and greet they offer.
As it happens, this was an excellent munch, well attended, with many people circulating. I spoke to many people who were new to me, including some newbies, it's not difficult!
PS So sorry to hear of the problems at the end, hope the bastards get caught!

I feel certain that neither T_S nor B would agree with your opening sentiments ... I'm certain I don't!

I am speaking for myself, I didn't realise you are Toza's and Belasarius's spokesman!
