It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... (7)

Generally, I start getting ready for Christmas round about July. In fact, if I had my way it would probably just be Christmas all year round. I only have to *hear* the word 'Christmas' and my brain pretty much explodes with tinsel-y glee. However, I am aware that not everybody shares my enthusiasm - even though I think they're crazy. Most people are quite happy to act as if the season isn't yet upon us, but there is one thing that signifies the beginning of Christmas that not even the stoniest of cynics can ignore.
The Christmas Coca Cola ad.
Ok, so it's the product of a huge, corporate, money-making franchise, but the first time I hear that jingle - as soon as I see those trucks and those lights - something magical happens. Laugh if you want, but as soon as that commercial appears, I know it's Christmas. And not even the cynics can deny it then.
The ad has yet to appear on TV, but as I was walking home from the bus stop today I happened to glance at a nearby billboard.
One long line of lit-up Coca Cola trucks, complete with actual twinkling fairy lights.
I nearly cried. :D Edited Wed 19 Nov 08, 7:00 PM by sodsta

I love reading things like this, mainly because although I'm not a big fan of christmas, I like to see it making people happy. Yeah I hate what it does financially, yeah I hate gaining the extra pounds, clearing up after everything is done with, but I do love those times of sitting down exhausted knowing that I've made at least my immediate loved ones smile. So despite all the bad bits, it's nice to hear about people genuinely 100% enjoying it Thread are like skirts. They should be long enough to cover the interesting details, but short enough to keep things interesting.
Beautiful gothic/victorian style rings:

| The ad is being played on telly, it is just a few seconds of ad though, i think they are teasing us with the fact it is nearly Christmas and are holding out on playing the full one.x

I can understand your excitement I have been on a christmas buzz for a couple of weeks, much to the boys annoyance. I bought all new decorations for our first Christmas living together.
Quite a lot of presents have been bought and Im thinking of something lovely for my boy.
The boy doesn't like Christmas and thinks it shouldnt be mentioned until at least mid-December, so I keep mentioning it everyday just to cheer him up Maybe I can play the christmas songs CD at the weekend, then he will have "I wish it could be christmas everyday" running around in his head all day
As I have been extra good Im expecting Santa to fill my stocking with lots of lovely things. Well he better had, cos I have a paddle and I aint afraid to use it !!
CSB is not an excuse for being a very naughty boy
