Some sensible comments - Christians don't need special protection for their property, but people should treat it with no less respect than they would any other property.

I'm perturbed by one comment about Islam though. Islam is as broad a faith as Christianity - perhaps broader. There's incredible diversity. One shouldn't assume all followers are like the extremists and fundamentalists who capture the headlines. The vast majority aren't.

I follow the point you are making, but think that you may have misunderstood.

The Christian religion calls for followers to forgive actions against them, hence my belief that if the OP carried out his fantasy and was caught, the church would forgive and pray for him.

But Islam requires that anyone who insults the faith, (and lets be fair - a sex act in a holy place is a bit of an insult to the religion in question) should be put to death.

It's not a question of extremists, its how the religion views it.

Spank and sex in a church ?

Fantasy of the wife. She was around a lot of religious "people" when young so is fairly anti-religion and wishes to rebel.

Her fantasy is to be spanked while bending over an altar and then having noisy sex on it, the pulpit, all over the church.

Now obviosuly, we would like to try this but what are the risks? Just indecent exposure (and I guess eternal damnation) but any other laws? Obviously we don't want to get caught and would love to have a church to ourselves for a while.

Many churches are open during Sundays in the country. Worth the risk of just turning up and hoping no one else comes in while there ?

Or does anyone know of a church, that looks like a church, but actually isn't anymore that I could hire?

I know, long shot...

As long as you do not intend to do anything on consicrated ground, I wish you luck, how about trying to use an old manor house and dress the room up to give the gothic feel you desire.

I think therefore I am!

We almost did this once. Lovely church too. Luckily God warned us that someone was coming.
I should keep quiet about that. You never know who is wandering about with two sticks and some nails ;). S_C

Actually, he was very friendly. He reassured us it was nice to anticipate an act of genuine love in his church rather than having to watch men in frocks telling children lies about how the world was made. :)

Did a quick Google and it is possible to hire churches for events: probably not for what you are intending though.

The scale of charges for St Mary's Church, Bury st Edmunds amused me:

£300 for a session, including two-hour rehearsal...

£50 for use of organ. £25 for use of chamber organ.

The church can seat an audience of 640 people.

While at St Chads, Shrewsbury: "The church verger is on hand to help and advise with your preparations."

What more could you want?

We once noticed an old church up for sell at an estates agents, so went in and asked for keys so we could look around...and hey, they let us!

Great session, and lovely echo noises!..lol

The schoolteacher Gillian Gibbons was accused of insulting Islam by naming a teddy bear Muhammed; however, she wasn't put to death, and the vast majority of Muslims thought the whole thing was idiotic.

Having said that, I would imagine that if anyone from the local Christian congregation found people fucking in a church, whilst they might very well be forgiving, they'd be mightily pissed off at the time.

There are some places where I think you find are the right places to do stuff like that and there are the wrong places, and I would say a church is the wrong place.

The idea is not to get caught though. It's the same principle as in any space open to the public, it's not actually against the law if you have a reasonable expectation that you won't be seen (e.g. in the woods) which in practice means you don't get caught.

I don't see why one should treat a church as any different just because some of it's congregation might be a little anti sex and anti bdsm.

I've played in churches* and in the woods before. Both were fun and neither concept should really get anyone's knickers that much in a twist.

Cool. There was a nice church for sale up the road - was very tempted, would have been great for a dungeon. Needed too much work though.

I was brought up as a catholic by strict but loving parents, once after getting caught doing something I shouldn't I was taken by my dad along to see the local priest to confess, ended up getting the belt in the chapel house which was attached to the chapel itself so does that count???

I was always told that a spanking was mean't to hurt and that the only way i'd learn to behave was with a warm bottom.
