I'm abruptly yanked out of sleep, her hands around my neck. They squeeze harder, slowly but surely taking away my breath. She doesn't need to tell me she has the power over all my life, even the air that I breathe.
Now I remember, I am calm again. The struggles cease, but the tightening does not. Is this a test? Can I endure? I'm confused but not afraid. A tear rolls down from the corner of my closed eye to splash against the pillow. Her tongue follows it's path up from my cheek to tickle my lashes.
For a few seconds, she grants me a repreive. I gasp in her scent, her perfume and that subtle unique signature that is just her. My lungs are filled with it, she surrounds me as completely as if she were crushing me to her. She presses a kiss to my lips and pleasure begins to fill up all my empty spaces. I know she is pleased, my eyes flutter open ....
... and I wake up realising I've developed a sore throat overnight and I'm trapped in a mountain of duvets. Meh, go figure!
