There are times when you wonder about the duplicity of people, and I'm starting to believe that running an event like Kinkdom is exposing me to some of the most duplicitous people I have ever had the misfortune to meet.
From council officials who say one thing and then do another, from police officers who say they are impartial, and promptly demonstrate otherwise, and this week a venue owner who says £500 (accepted) we are then pushed to £1000, then they say they want £2000? Their message tailed off with .... 'the event may be better held at a.... different venue'
Four weeks of negotiating, many site visits, agreements with everyone concerned, or so we thought, and then 'the event may be better held at a.... different venue'
Fortunately we weren't pinning all our hopes on just one venue, indeed we have our sights on several targets, including for the future both the North East and the North West. (The concept of Kinkdom on Tour has much appeal, but lets walk before we start running eh?)
In particular we were negotiating a longer term deal with a locally based leisure group which will give us a much stronger and firmer base from which to grow. That deal has now been done. So Kinkdom has its new home. Livingstones, and we presume its permanent. We certainly hope so, since we've now been through five venues for three events!
Next event: Sunday 2nd November, tickets on sale now.

It's like a bloody treasure hunt, love it !!!!
So, where exactly are we or is it a "revealed the night before" situation ?
I can't open the attachments on your emails so I couldn't see the trader details, do I need to adjust my settings or something ? (technophobe here) !

Kinkdom has not had the best of luck with anything and yet it is a reflection of you guys that each event has been great, run smootly and had none of the atmosphere which could have seeped over into the event from the many things going wrong.
Kinkdom is strong and will only grow, these problems will I'm sure be laughed at when you are celebrating a milestone in the future and those who tried to be greedy now will be crying in their beer when their shortsightedness caused them to lose what could have been a long term profit and reliable income.
I can't wait for the next kinkdom it is a breath of fresh air to have the club open and runing, I missed out on visiting Nem and I am very happy to be becoming a regual at Kinkdom.
Keep up the hard work guys there are loads of us who appreciate it. |
