I'm organising a halloween party in the woods. Its all shaping up amazingly: two generators for the sound and lights, a smoke machine, a proper bar and djs all in one area. Another thing that I wanted to do is to have a smaller sound system hooked up into the trees on the approach to the main area, with some super-creepy music just to add to the atmosphere. Any suggestions? Edited Sat 18 Oct 08, 5:23 PM by Osopha

Oh wow, sounds fabulous. Brilliant idea. This communication was brought to you from the desk of the Pontiff Elect, the benchmark by which purity, holiness & normality are measured.

I'm so excited about the whole thing it's unreal. I'm going for the lounge in the forest look, with some brown leather couches and arm chairs, with lampshades and red light bulbs, a rug and maybe even a couple of old portraits nailed into a tree. This will form the dance area, with the bar area on a mound over-looking it. But I digress! Thanks for your suggestion; I shall have a listen. Edited 18 Oct 08, 6:11 PM by Osopha

Try and get hold of a couple of patio heaters. This communication was brought to you from the desk of the Pontiff Elect, the benchmark by which purity, holiness & normality are measured.

I think that the cost to heat ratio is a little low with those in a wood... we are having mulled wine and warm cider, however. And invitees have been told to be toasty-ghosties by dressing warm!

In particular, something with kids voices would be great... and stuff leaning towards "minimal" sounds rather than death metal stuff...

Try card shops and joke shops for halloweenesque music or get some gregorian chant The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire. ~Ferdinand Foch

It's old but it is still one of the all time most creepy records. 'White Noise' by the same. Chilling, scarey acid nightmare and strangely beautiful at once
