Of my car!!!!!!!
Its developed a squeak, a very annoying squeak, worse when i turn left for some reason.
Anyway, i took it to a garage today to get them to look at it as i was worried it would affect the brakes in some way. I also asked them to look at the electrics for me that haven't worked since it was last in the garage that cost me £1000.
Anyway, half a day later i wandered back to the garage to see how it was doing.
The mechanic says to me "i'm sorry but i can't touch the electrics due to the fire"
I says "what fire????"
He says "the one that has obviously happened and thats why they disconnected your electrics"
He showed me the panel where the electrics are kept, in the arm of the drivers door. The plastic is all melted and there is scorch marks. The electric controls for my passenger window and electric mirrors have been physically disconnected, they wouldn't have just both 'come out on their own'
So, he can't fix them, he advised i go to a guy that specialies in electrics, but he warned me that it won't be cheap.
As to the squeak, he never looked at it, told me that in his opinion the car wasn't worth having ANYTHING doing to it till i knew the score with the electrics. He also said i should be very careful as there is evidently a major fault!!!
What did i do?? i cried like a baby!!! I am just so fed up with this car but i don't have any money to get a new one and finance isn't an option.
So i could be driving a death trap and am powerless to do anything about it!!
Just when i start getting sorted something comes and knocks me back down.
The annoying thing is i can't prove which garage did the damage as it went to 2 different ones!!!

Have a word with trading standards and see if they will investigate it. What I say goes...

You go to them, tell them everything that's happened and see if they will investigate it, then they find the proof if they can. I'm sure the current garage will be happy to tell them what they found. What I say goes...

I can understand that as it's what I usually do. Even if you don't get them to investigate, have a word with them and report it so that if anyone else reports it then they have something to go on and they might stop other people getting messed about. See if they have a website where you can e-mail them, it should be easier to handle that way than face to face or over the phone. They might still want to talk to you but at least it gets that initial awkwardness over with. What I say goes...

Poor you. I won't go into the whys and wherefores of the fire but the squeak is probably a wheel bearing.... "i don't want to live to waste another day underneath the shadow of mistakes that i've made" |
