I have been driving to work across Croydon Aerodrome, it was the first London Airport and because of it the areas was badly bombed in the 2nd world war. You would never know it now - there are large swards of green with the tall buildings of Croydon in the background, this week , in the sunshine, I have seen the dew sparkling in the sun and watching the steam start to come off it as it starts to dry off.

It has made me feel very happy

I felt very happy having dinner with x_Raven_x on Wednesday, tapas with friends on Tuesday, and tonight my best beloved MoK will be coming over.

so a good week from someone who is still up and down.

However today also was the last day in Croydon for the young man who helped me when I was thrown in the deep end for my last team. He has a leaving lunch yesterday and was given real gifts. So today i took him a Croydon Briefcase (Primark Carrier Bag) and in it I put

a book of the history of Croydon ( In case he forgot where he learned eveything)

a Croydon pen and pecil set -ikea pencil, barclays free pen,

some shoe polish - to polish up his image. a woolly hat so he wouldn't hear anything he shouldn't,

2 primarke ties in case he felt like sticking his neck out

some hankies to keep his nose clean ,

and a diversity red card for when his new - much posher colleagues in Westminster take the piss out of Croydon

we all had a laugh and later he called me into one of the conference room and told me he had learned more about co-operative management and the value of getting to know your team tha he had thought possible and he thought I was a wonderful manager.

He might be a liar - but he made me feel so very good today.
