Do switches make better subs? (92)

I'm mainly asking this from a femdom perspective, but feel free to read it how you like.

It occurs to me after a year on this site that those subs I relate best to are feisty, articulate, playful and enthusiastic.

A lot of self-identifying 'twoo subs' I have been in contact with seem lacking in imagination, sensuality and proactive nous. In my experience D/s doesn't get off the ground without those qualities on both sides.

Have I daftly been looking in the (wrong) box, instead of the gap between it and the others?

It's just like the Sixties. Except there's less hope.

I've played with both and personally I think I prefer it with a switch than a sub. I think purely because it gives me a buzz to know that the person submitting to me is capable of mentally and physically dominating others. That they choose to bend to my will rather than it being purely their nature.

switches make amazing dom/mes coz they know what it is to be on the recieving end

so i guess in turn, from what i see, it works the other way in how their education of both roles is more rounded and they can bring something to each situation they choose to undertake :)

I'm a sub, I don't switch, though I don't class myself as a "twoo sub", noone is a true anything it's a load of twaddle.

But I don't think it's only switches that feisty, articulate, playful and enthusiastic. I would hope that I could be described as all those things.

Just what I was going to post..... :)

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt

What she said. The fact that I don't switch doesn't mean I'm a doormat. In the rest of my life I'm confident, assertive and in charge. Bolshy, assertive, capable of imposing my will on others and of taking charge of a situation - necessary character traits to do the job that I do. Which makes it all the sweeter to give it up in the right circumstances.

Edited to add: and in a play situation I'm not afraid to let my partner know what I do/don't like, share fantasies, etc. I'm still relatively new to BDSM so I've been finding my way a bit - and obviously I don't want to do it in a "topping from the bottom" kind of way, but I hope I find the right balance. I'm certainly not passive, unresponsive or unimaginative.

While i can kinda agree with this, the very same principle can make us terrible subs as in our minds we are saying things such ooooooooooooh i wouldnt do it like that, and this would work better than what they just did... not that i ever think like that obviously ;-)

I personally think it depends largely on the person, i recently played with a switch and i wouldnt touch him with a barge pole again as he was the most annoying person i have ever played with, though i think it was probably him as a person rather that his switchness ... actually saying that the sub i regularly play with is also a switch and he's another complete pain in the arse also... maybe all the male switches are?

I on the other hand make the most wonderful submissive :-p

Indeed I would agree the main benefit with a switch is that when they dominate the crap out of someone they know how to press *all* the buttons :-p

.... and if they don't shame on them lol
